About

Brent Haddow ( b. 1993, Richmond, British Columbia) is a linocut printmaker and illustrator creating in his private printmaking studio in Vancouver's Chinatown. Graduating in 2015 with a Bachelors of Illustration with a focus on drawing and printmaking Haddow's work can be best described as a celebration of movement, colour and play. Brent brings together bright colours, slight abstractions, and natural forms to make up the narrative of his work. It is the hope that the images carved and printed celebrate craft and the handmade towards its viewer, and bring a sense of calm, joy and play to the spaces they inhabit. Developing a body of work and building his printmaking studio Haddow has participated in various local markets, and art shows around Vancouver.

With a passion of celebrating art locally Haddow has also has begun teaching introductory linocut printmaking workshop where he teaches in his studio in Historic Chinatown. His workshops have also been taken on the road into pop up spaces around the Vancouver's Lower Mainland and Victoria including spaces like Herschel HQ, August Studios, Richmond Community Centre and Luna Collective. He started teaching workshops as a way to bring people into his studio and to teach them about the wonderful world of printmaking and looks forward to all possible opportunities to build his teaching practice in all its forms.
